Cook Kai, a tiny hidden gem that should not be missed if you are looking for authentic and not overpriced Thai food. The menu is full of delicious choices, which are prepared fresh to order in the open kitchen. The Loempia ( spring rolls) are perfectly crisp, served piping hot with a sweet fish sauce for dipping. The spareribs are meaty, and tender and the coconut-mushroom-shrimp soup is fragrant with a zesty lemongrass flavour.
The mouth-watering Pad-Thai comes with a dusting of chili on the side, but be warned it is very spicy!
We have returned to Cook –Kai several times, and it is always busy with several people coming in for take-away. They do not have a liquor license, and there is a no-smoking policy inside , but this does not deter the locals from making this a very successful restaurant. Our average bill has been between $22.00 EU- $33.00 EU.
With only 7 tables available, it is a good idea to get there early if you want to be guaranteed a seat.
