A tiny homestyle
café in the heart of the Jordaan, Mama
Mia serves tasty food at a bargain price. With
only 18 seats inside and a table of 8 on the
patio, it’s constantly busy and also provides
home delivery, Amsterdam style on a scooter.
The menu is mainly Italian with a few Turkish
dishes such as Casik, a cold cucumber and yogurt
salad, and stuffed grape leaves. We sampled
the Four cheese lasagna, served bubbling hot,
tortelinni soup, casik and a salami and cheese
pizza. I ate as much as I could and still went
home with some pizza in a take-away box. All
the food was tasty and fresh and our waiter
was very accommodating.
If your looking for a cheap place to eat some
home-made pizza, I would certainly recommend
it. Our total bill with two beers came to $20.50
EU.
